Purpose of International Faculty Professional Development Travel Grants:
The goal of CSUSB international faculty travel
grants is to strengthen CSUSB's internationalization process by
facilitating faculty travel that will internationalize the curriculum; develop
and promote opportunities for students to study and work abroad; support
professors's international research, publications, conference presentations, and
grant writing; encourage the development of professors's foreign language skills;
as well as strengthen relationships with partner institutions outside of the U.S.
Eligibility:
All Unit 3 employees are eligible to apply for Professors Across Borders travel grants. All applicants must
demonstrate how they will meet funding objectives. To insure that funding will produce the maximum
benefits for faculty members’ international professional development and the campus’ internationalization
process, priority will be given to applicants in this order.
Awards:
Proposals for faculty members’ travel will be considered for countries around the world. Interdisciplinary
projects are especially encouraged. All established criteria and guidelines must be followed. Grants in the
amounts of $500 to $2,500 will be awarded based on the quality of the proposals and their potential
for contributing to the campus’ internationalization process.
Submission Guidelines:
All proposals must follow the following format:
Project Objective/s
Significance of the project to the international professional development of the submitter
(in relation to the project objectives)
Description of Proposed Activities and Timeline
Proposed Contacts in Target Country
Previous CSUSB Professors Across Borders Travel Grants Received (with attached reports)
Budget (detailed, reasonable, with all sources of funding indicated)

Deadline to submit applications is January 19, 2007 (5:00 PM).
